2-minute Banana & Peanut Butter Breakfast Smoothie
Let’s be honest, as much as we all know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, not always we have the time to make it. Then we end up carrying on with our lives and before we know it, it’s the afternoon and our tummies are still empty.
I love breakfast but sometimes I just like the extra few minutes in bed instead, which then naturally bites me in the bum when it comes to making breakfast.
As you may know, I love my oatmeal which doesn’t actually take that long to make, but by the time you add the 10 minutes of cooking, the 10 minutes eating time and then 5 minutes to wash up, it comes to half hour before you know it. So, I figured that by using my Nutribullet and blend everything instead of cooking can save me lots of time in the morning and I am still getting the same amount of nutrients that I would get if I cooked my usual oatmeal.
I made this smoothie for the first time and it is sooooo good! It is completely different to my usual fruit and veg recipes and due to the ingredients high in fibre and protein, it’s sure to keep you full and satisfied all morning! It contains exactly the same ingredients I would use for my day to day oatmeal but it is ready in just 2 minutes! Win win!
Perfect for busy mornings, work commutes, post-workout fueling, or midday snacks.
I N G R E D I E N T S :
- 1 banana
- 1/2 cup of oats
- a few chocolate buttons
- 1 tbsp peanut butter
- 250ml oat milk
- 1 tsp flax seeds
- 1 tsp desiccated coconut (optional)
This homemade smoothie recipe makes just enough for one serving. It is the perfect portion size for a snack, breakfast, or midday meal. But you can easily double it if you’re making smoothies for two.
M E T H O D :
Put all the ingredients into a blender and whizz until smooth.
Feel free to leave some of the ingredients out. Equally, you can add more if you wish. A little bit of cacao powder would enhance the chocolate flavour.
I use oat milk but any plant-based milk will make this smoothie taste just as delicious.
These Organic porridge oats are my favourite due to their plastic-free packaging (Aldi).
Ta dah!!
Give it a try and don’t forget to let me know what you thought 🙂
